About

Licensed barber,  at Mark-Jason Solofa Men's Grooming, in Berkeley, CA. The mission is to follow in the Mark's vision & establish a consistent relationship built on  service, trust, communication, and creativity, with those whom walk through the door and sit in the chair.

My love for this craft, started when I was 13. I used to get haircuts from my mom until I was old enough to go to barbershops. I didn't know what to look for in a shop or barber, and I didn't know the terminology (fade, taper,  shadow, burst, etc). After many failed attempts at getting the right cut at the right place, I took matters into my own hands and gave myself the greatest bowl cut I ever had.

I practiced on my neighborhood friends, coworkers, relatives, artists, directors, a professional baseball player, and have had the honor to be able to cut and style others that have been dealt a way more difficult hand than I could imagine.

Throughout my practice, I've continued to explore the passions of my life. I love theater and writing. Ive written poetry, flowetry,  and short films. I've been privileged to train, finish and be certified as an EMT and Firefighter from the Chabot College Firefighting academy, with some of the greatest people I've ever met. I founded m.y.b.l.o.c.k. (mentor youth building love ownership community and knowledge) a nonprofit with a mission to strengthen the youth and uplift the community. We've adopted 5 streets in the neighborhood I grew up in and have vowed to keep them clean. We also have a softball team that plays in Hayward, CA.  Oh, and we won 1st place, undefeated, Fall 2017.

The name, Swiss Army Charlie, was given to me by Taj Graves, and the rest of the Lions Den when I trained at Moler Barber College in Hayward under the great Ms. Tracie Williams.
